This past Wednesday was Ash Wednesday and, apparently LPI, our web server as well as the server for numerous Catholic churches across the country, was overwhelmed with the amount of traffic on the web sites it serves. LPI has issued the following apology:
Ash Wednesday Interruptions
On behalf of all of us at LPi, I’d like to apologize to those of you who experienced any interruption in your online service yesterday due to the higher than expected Internet traffic.
As you might expect, Ash Wednesday traditionally boasts the highest Internet traffic day for our online services. In anticipation, LPi took several steps to prepare our systems for the increased website traffic. The good news is that more people than ever were seeking information about Ash distribution. Unfortunately, with significantly more traffic than ever anticipated, some of your websites experienced intermittent issues causing your sites and/or listings to be inaccessible at times.
Please know we continue to be dedicated to providing you with the highest quality of service, and are taking the necessary steps to ensure that our systems are prepared for the impressive turnout next year on Ash Wednesday.
I apologize again for any inconvenience these issues may have caused.
Sincerely,
Michael A. Stone
