This weekend, Fr. Sheaffer is interrupting his vacation to be at each Mass to announce that, in a few weeks, Bishop Rozanski will be appointing him as the new pastor at St. Francis of Assisi Parish in Belchertown. This news is also being shared with the people in Belchertown this weekend. The initial plan is that Fr. Sheaffer will begin his new assignment on September 1st.
Fr. Sheaffer will be filling the role left open by the unexpected death of Fr. Vernon Decoteau, who died on June 1st from complications after heart surgery.
