Bishop Joseph F. Maguire died at 6 pm this evening at the age of 95. He served as Bishop of Springfield from 1977 until his retirement in 1992 and continued to serve the people of our Diocese in so many ways since that time. Funeral arrangements are pending. Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord. And may perpetual light shine upon him. May his soul and the souls of all the faithful departed forever rest in peace. Amen.
