Prayer Before Voting

Tomorrow, November 6th is Election Day here in the USA. For the past several months we have found ourselves bombarded with ads for candidates and the issues and the Bishops of the United States have worked hard to inform us of teachings of the Church and how our beliefs affect the way we may vote.

One thing that is important for all voters is to make our choices based on beliefs and our faith. Faith really is a part of all we do and, while we respect those with opposing viewpoints, we should always vote according to our conscience, guided by our prayer. Fr. Austin Fleming, a priest of the Archdiocese of Boston, in his blog "A Concord Pastor Comments," has written a wonderful prayer and reflection called "Prayer Before Voting." Please take some time with it before heading to the polls tomorrow. Click here to read the reflection and prayer.
